Powerpoint automatically start

Please I need your help. For weeks now whenever I startup my computer
Powerpoint and Excel automatically starts up with an error mesage, I have
never setup computer to start these programs.

1) Powerpoint message: Powerpoint failed to start correctly last time.
Starting powerpoint in safe mode will help to correct or isolate a startup
problem in order to successfully start the program, some functionally may be
disable in this mode. do you want to start powerpoint in safe mode?

2) Excel also has to start in order for it to work correct.

Have you recently installed another program of some type? First, I'd go
Help| Check for updates. Then, here is a good place to start looking:
