everytime i plug in my USB cable from my printer to my computer i get a pop
up error on screen which says...
POWER SURGE ON HUB PORT
A USB DEVICE HAS EXCEED THE POWER LIMITS OF ITS HUB PORT.
Ive never had this before.. anyone know whats wrong????
i have been using microsoft windows XP as an operating system for my pc.
recently i have come across a problem with the USB hub, which probably might
have ocurred to my understanding out of usage of a faulty jetflash drive.
since the day of its usage the highspeed USB has discontinued its function,
whereas the earlier slowspeed version still functions e.g.i can operate my
printer through USB port. while the flash disk drives of any make discards
to operate. the warning that the system flashes mentions " power surge on USB
port".
i have been unable to figure out the correct method to deal with the
situation even when i consulted a professional.
kindly help me with the critical situation and guide me through a possible
cure.
thank you.
*note: both the USb ports on the CPU do not operate on high speeds.
system: intel(R) pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz .
