Power Surge On Hub Port ballon on connect...

Hello NewsGroup,

I have an external disk I use for back ups, 2.5inch 60GB laptop disk in
fact, contained in an external case. The casing does not have its' own power
supply but the external 4 port USB 2.0 hub does (it plugs into it).
Whenever I connect (physically) the external disk to my PC I get the
following message titled, 'Power Surge On Hub Port' and the message stating
to click the balloon to fix the problem. On doing so I'm prompted to reset
the hub. Then everything work fine. My question being, what can I do to so
I'm not prompted with a power surge reset message every time I connect my
external disk to my PC? It's no real drama just a matter of interest type of
thing.

Many thanks and regards,
Winux P

Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year NewsGroupies, enjoy your

I am also having this problem. However, I recieve this message when I
have NO USB devices attached to the system.

Any suggestions?

sounds like you are overloading the power outpu of your usb ports.try a
powered usb hub and install your appliances into that instead of your pc
