Power Options problems

I recently edited the power schemes on my Power Options on Windows. I add in
two of my own schemes and deleted the rest (that includes the default Windows
schemes).

All seemed fine, until I started up the computer the next day. Apparently
ALL the schemes were deleted. And I can't add any more or even change any of
the power options. So now my monitor shuts down after a minute of being idle.
The Power Options on my computer are out of my control.

Is there anyway I can reset the Power Options to its original state or at
least change the options an alternate way?

Open notepad and paste the following

--------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies\0]
"Name"="Home/Office Desk"
"Description"="This scheme is suited to most home or desktop computers that
are left plugged in all the time."
"Policies"=hex:01,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,\

I saved the file and it successfully was added to the registry. But I checked
my Power Options and I still have no power schemes.

Try rebooting your system.
