POP-UP ads....DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!

Could it be that it has nothing to do with IE but that actually you have a
virus or a browser hijacker that happily picks up pop ups and shows these?

Ah. So then it /is/ good advice to recommend a better browser.. one
that cannot be hijacked?

the point of using hotmail (or any other webmail for that matter) is
that you can access it anywhere with nothing more than a graphical
browser...

as such, thunderbird was the wrong tool... you should be using firefox
or perhaps the mozilla browser in the full suite...

based on the Mozilla 1.4 Gecko engine, and Moz has moved to 1.6 (with
1.7 out soon).

Do install Mozilla with a new profile, unless you don't plan to use
7.1 anymore.
