Pop or Balloon sounds in Internet explorer

Hello, I have this real annoying pop sound (almost like a balloon pop)
whenever I open up my Internet Explorer Browser. Netscape doesn't have this
very annoying sound. Any ideas how I can get rid of it?? FYI> I have all my
sounds disabled. So I have no sound schemes running. Also, I did a search
for a balloon.wave file. I found five of them and deleted them, but that
didn't help either.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Is the sound coming from speakers you have attached to your soundcard or
from the PC's internal speaker? Did you test the balloon wav to see if that
was the sound you were hearing? Did you go to Control Panel, Sounds and
Audio Devices and check the list of associated sounds? Even if you have no
sound schemes, if there is a sound associated with an action it might still
execute. If you are running XP SP2 beta, the most likely culprit is the
"Blocked Pop-up Window" under Windows Explorer.
