Pls Help! Can't visit some web sites

It seems that I am loosing the ability to visit my
regular web sites one by one. May be a virus?
Usually get "The page cannot be displayed".
Followed instructions on this page, no help.
I thought it is an Internet Explorer problem so I
downloaded Netscape but same results.
Any Assistance would be appreciated!

Try this if you have recently used the windows update:

Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB831167)

receive errors connecting to websites after you have applied the KB832894
