01 PROGRAM NAME: Clipomatic
02 WARE DESCRIPTION: freeware
03 OS-WIN: Windows (95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP)
04 OS-NOTES:
05 OS-OTHER:
06 LANGUAGES: English
07 DESCRIPTION AND NOTES:
Clipomatic is a clipboard cache program. All you have to do is start it up,
and it will start monitoring the clipboard and recording its changes. When
you want to paste an old item, you just put the keyboard cursor where you
would like to paste and press Ctrl-Alt-V instead of Ctrl-V. A menu pops up
with your clips - you can select one with the mouse or with a single
keystroke. The menu then disappears, and the item is pasted with no further
work on your part. You can optionally select a set of permanent clips that
will always be displayed.
*Added by me, check the errors!* It doesn't support graphics or other
clipboard formats besides text. It has a very small memory footprint, only
about 150 KB.

Windows OS: Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP
Languages: English
Description: Clipomatic is a clipboard cache program - it remembers what
was copied to the clipboard even after new data is copied, and allows
you to retrieve the old data. While there are many programs that do the
same, none are quite so convenient, simple to use, or efficient as
Clipomatic. Using Clipomatic is simple. All you have to do is start it
up, and it will start monitoring the clipboard and recording its
changes. When you want to paste an old item, you just put the keyboard
cursor where you would like to paste and press Ctrl-Alt-V instead of
Ctrl-V. A menu pops up with your clips - you can select one with the
mouse or with a single keystroke. The menu then disappears, and the item
is pasted with no further work on your part. COMMENTS: The program has a
very small memory footprint. It only copies text.

Hmmm... So both the links you provided install C4U on your machine? And
Susan's link also?
I'll have to investigate this further. And apologise for my rudeness of

UK's Kalendar is hardly a nasty, BTW.

I've no guess what forces at work that have conspired to try to make
you start viewing calendars...

Oh wait, jo, I do have one small theory. Installshield has a tendency
to leave crud around for awhile after its been used. Both in your active
processes, and in your temp folder. Add in an additional factor that it
slops in a lot of names overlap amongst different installs. So if you do
a succession of Installshield installs, it gets itself confused sometimes.
Theory: That UK calendar got in there once, and now it's going to come up
for all your Installshield installs. Solution one is to reboot. Solution
two is two pull out your process monitor and kill the Installshield
processes that are lingering (there are sometimes up to three), and to
clean out your temp directory.

The Installshield getting things all mixed like that, it's a behavior
I've seen a number of times. As to whether this has anything to do with
your UK calendar riddle, dunno....

I'm beginning to believe it is too. I downloaded the app from Tucows and
checked to see if it was the right one. okay here. . .

ISTM the usual recommendation at this point is to clean out your
temporay folders.

I'd say the odds are fair to good. ;)

IIRC every time the problem has been "it wants to install the wrong
program" the solution has been to get rid of leftovers from previous
installations of other apps.

You are quite right; well done. It is strange... I install loads of
stuff all the time and have done for years and have never seen this
behaviour before.
I emptied the temp folder and copied C4U13.exe to another drive and it
installed correctly.
Afterwards as a test I tried the copy in my downloads folder, from which
everything gets installed. Again it tried to install UK's Kalender! It
is a couple of months or so since I installed this app, and I would
imagine I have installed other installshield apps in between. (But I
could be wrong, since I monitor none of this stuff)
Computers are a bit odd at times.
As for the users...

04 OS-NOTES: (IE only etc.)
05 OS-OTHER: (Mac OS X; Linux; Unix)
06 LANGUAGES: English
07 DESCRIPTION AND NOTES

hkSFV is the simply the easiest, most intuitive and automatic way to
create or check .SFV and .MD5 files. And, of course, it's completely
free. An .SFV file is a tiny list of files and CRCs, which allow you
to check to see if the files you have downloaded are exactly what you
are expecting. The CRC algorithm used in .SFV files allows you to see
if the file you have has been changed, even a single byte, since the
..SFV file was created. .MD5 uses the md5 algorithm to compute its
checksums, rather than the crc32 method used by .SFV. The md5
algorithm is almost as fast as crc32, but it is much more accurate at
detecting changes in files.
