Phtoshop 6 with Xp SP2 problem

I am having Windows XP Home Edition installed my Laptop (Acer Aspire
1356LCi) and Adobe Photoshop 6.01.

A couple of days I installed XP SP2 (final) and everything runs quite
smoothly: no problem whatsoever. But one problem occurred when starting
PS 6.01: It starts remarkably slower than with XP SP1 and furthermore
opening picture (normal jpg or tiff format sized around 1MB) is also
remarkably slower.

I have not measured the difference between those times but as I said
they are very well noticeable. Actually I could measure the time because
I still have disk images both XP with SP1 and SP2. Both installs are
other ways exactly similar.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

I have recreated PS's preferences – no help.

I personally can't say I have had problems with PS 6.0.1 on SP2. I have it
on two machines, both with SP2. Last night I did some work in PS on one of
the machines, no noticeable difference on my end.
