photo size in received mail

Whenever I receive photo attachments they are open in the email and are huge.
Where do I set the size of received photo's and what is the best size to use?
Thank you.

Unless you save the image to your computer, you
really don't have control over its size.

Why don't people resize before they send images?
Because they basically don't know what they are doing.
They think emails can be 10MB in size, so just pile
everything into an email and send it. Who cares? That
is even worse for people still using dial-up.

You will have to educate them. I prefer IrfanView to
handle anything to do with images. I prefer that over
any native program in Vista. Others might prefer to use
Windows Photo Gallery.

IrfanView is freeware. If you decide to try it or recommend
it, be sure to download the Plugins as well.

I was sending you a return message and lost the page. Hope this doesn't come
across twice :)
Thanks very much. I'll go there and see what the program is.
Let me ask one more clariying question; I already us Picasa 3. Does that
have the same capabilities as the program you mention or are they two
separate things. As you can see, I'm not computer savvy :)

I'm sorry, while I like Google for searching, I don't care to
use any of their programs because they track you when
you use them. So I don't know much about Picasa.
(of course, they also track you when you search with
Google - but I prefer to keep that at a minimum by not
using their programs).

Once you read about IrfanView, you can probably figure out
if they overlap in features.
