pci.sys in WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/DRIVERS is corrupt.

I can't boot up my machine becasue I get an error message saying
pci.sys in WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/DRIVERS is corrupt.

What is the easiest way to fix this. Please advise. Thanks!

I don't think there will be an easy way to fix this error. With Windows
2000 one can use the Recovery Console and replace pci.sys but that file
is not native to XP, the error on XP usually indicates defective or
incompatible hardware. To troubleshoot remove ALL the PCI devices then
reboot and see if the computer starts. Then add the devices one at a
time until you find the device at fault.

Hi,
I think your problem is RAM. Dislodge the RAM(s) and see it the RAM bank is
not dirty and also clean the RAM and then put it back properly. Make sure,
the RAM is seated well into the slots. Turn on your computer, if that solves
your problem fine otherwise, trying another RAM on it.
