Passwords sort of saving?

I am new to XP. After being prompted to save passwords, I have to enter my
user name first in an empty field and then sometimes password will
auomatically be entered. On my Mac user names and passwords automatically
show up in fields when I access pages. On XP- even on pages that have a
checkbox for Remember User ID and Password -I have to enter passwords. Is
this as it should be on XP? I had experienced no saving whatsoever on prior
computer so this is better but... ...thank you

Ensure you have "User names and passwords on forms" enabled. You find this
option here:

Control Panel > Internet Options > Content tab > AutoComplete button. Enable
the options you require.

RoboForm is a free app that's a pretty good option.

Hi, thank you, but I have done this...checked then unchecked auto
complete...so I can expect pages requesting paswords to already be filled
when I enter them?
