Page File Problems

Whenever my system boots, I get a page file error message with instructions
on how to change it. I follow the instructions, and while it appears to
work, the same message comes up again on restart and I go back into
Performance, Advanced, etc. and see in the view pane that the increased size
is there, but where Page File Size is actually listed, the same lower number
is there. It's as though somewhere in XP the page file changes, but not
everywhere.

Thanking all in advance for any help.

Any Norton products installed? They have been known to cause this
type of problem under some circumstances.

Good luck

Will,

Your article is a fine one, very clear and almost user-friendly. I'll make
another attempt to fix the problem using that information. One thing, and
this is regarding Norton: I've removed Norton Antivirus and assumed Norton
LiveUpdate was removed with it, but recently, rooting about in my system,
found it still has a file.

Just curious, I'm using Windows OneCare and it seems to be working. Could
that, like Norton, be a cause of the page file size error message?

Thanks again,

Harriet
