"page cannot be found" for specific web site

I have seached the threads and have found similar problems but no solutions
for those problems have solved mine. Here's the deal: A couple days ago I
could access a web site that I visit on a regualr basis (almost daily). Of
course. this is a VERY frustrating problem due to the fact that I can't
duplicate it from ANY other web site.

So here is a list of everything I have done so far (in no particular order):

-accepted all cookies
-turned internet security to low
-disabled zonealarm
-added said website in trusted webistes
-added said website to "always allow cookies"
-added said website to trusted zones on zonealarm
-deleted temp files
-deleted cookies
-ran virus check (more than once)
-ran spybot/ad-aware (more than once)

That should be everything. I am running XP SP2 and Explorer 6. I have not
done any updates recently, or anything else that I know of, to trigger this.

I appreciate any help sent my way!

Hi,
Try opening a Cmd window (or from Start> Run) enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear the Temporary Internet Files and restart.

Or make sure that Windows is showing hidden files and is not hiding file
extensions for known file types then check for a HOSTS file at
[C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] Open the HOSTS file with notepad. If there
are any redirect entries in it you can put the pound sign (#) in front an
entry to disable that redirect. Or you can rename the HOSTS file to (ie)
HOSTS.OLD
More on the HOSTS file at http://www.accs-net.com/hosts/

See if there's anything else to try at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870700
or
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#dns

Or, deleting the History and TIF folders may help:

Hope this helps,
Don
