What is P2P or Peer2Peer networking? We bought two new computers and both sign
on with prompt that P2P networking is not working right. I have ignored it.
Private response would be helpful.

Peer2Peer networking is part of Kazaa. uninstall it and run a spyware scan.

I agree that P2P is used in Kazaa...and was also used in many other
file-sharing programs over the internet. It's NOT correct to say that
it is JUST Kazaa that uses P2P though.

Plug two computers together with NICs/crossover cable, or plug both
computer NICs into a hub with a regular cable - and you have to
computers that are communicating in Peer-to-Peer mode. Nothing to do
with Kazaa.

Greetings --

Remove KaZaA.

To deal with any sort of "adware" and/or "spyware," such as
Gator, Comet Cursors, Bonzai Buddy, or KaZaA that you've deliberately
(but without understanding the consequences) installed, two products
that are quite effective (at finding and removing this type of
scumware) are Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search &
Destroy from http://security.kolla.de/. Both have free evaluation
versions. It's even possible to use SpyBot Search & Destroy to
"immunize" your system against most future intrusions. I use both and
generally perform manual scans every week or so to clean out cookies,
etc.
