Outlook starts downloading messages then Stops

When outlook starts downloading messages into my Indbox(witch large
attachments), it downloads for example 1MB or sometimes 4 MB of a 10 MB file
then it suddenly stops and then starts all over again downloading from 0.
and the result is that if it downloaded a msg in between it will repeat and
download it again.

Can anyone please suggest any solution for this irretating problem.

Perhaps your Outlook is configured to check for and send new messages to often?

This often happen on my home-computer when I am downloading large
mails/attachments because I have mye computer checking for messages
within every 1 minute.

1) Disable scanning incoming mail with your AV scanner
2) Increase the send/receive interval.

Now how do i have stop it from checking? where should i go to disable this

Look in your AV scanner's options.

and Increase the send/receive interval????

On Tools>Options>Mail Setup>Send/Receive.
