Outlook 2003 Stopped Downloading Messages on 3-18

I have been using Outlook 2003 with my internet provider for months without a
problem. All of a sudden it stopped working. It starts downloading a message,
stops part way through then says it must close without a specific error
message. When I restart it it starts downloading the same message ond stops
again. etc, etc.

I have reloaded Outlook, remover the Norton Anti Virus and there is no change.

This is an XP system. On my Vista machine Outlook 2003 is still working fine.

I am out of ideas and need help. Any ideas?

Have you tried using a web mail client (possibly on your ISPs servers) to
view/remove the bad message?

Yes. All messages were removed. As new ones come in the same thing happens.
Also my other machine (Vista OS) is working fine off the server.

I have now tried removing the profile from the register and starting a new
one. This did not solve the problem but the test message was sent and got
through. It seems the problem is receive only and each time the process stops
at 4.94 KB. Also the message I get is:

"Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience. To see what data this error report contains,

I have als tried to go back to retore points and that has not solved the
problem either.

I have no idea where to go next.
