Outlook 2003 Spell Check Error

Running XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro. As of today, when I spell check in O2K3,
I receive the following error message:

"Error occurred while checking spelling". I click "OK", it appears again, I
click "OK", and the message is sent, without spell checking.

I have tried "Detect and Repair", and it has not fixed the problem. I
renamed "msspell3.dll" and "mssp3en.lex" and re-installed them, successfully,
and that didn't solve the problem.

Another user..."Sebastian", posted the same issue several days ago, with no
replies.

Anyone have any other ideas?

TIA for your help!

Bob

OK everyone...I solved my own problem. FYI.

Located "custom.dic" which is the custom dictionary used by Outlook (and
perhaps other Office Programs). Renamed it "custom.old". Restarted Outlook,
problem disappeared. Went back and checked, and a new, blank, "custom.dic"
had been created.

Note: The same problem was occuring with Publisher 2003, except slightly
different. I would get an error message saying (words to this effect) that
the dictionary wasn't installed, and that I needed to install it by running
Publisher setup again. After I did the above, everything worked fine.

What is strange is that this issue did not occur when I opened Word 2003 and
PowerPoint 2003 to see if the error would replicate in all Office Pro
applications. Strange!
