Outllok 2003 email counter

how do I get my emails to be counted so i know when it's time to pare down
my old emails? I've seen a counter in the lower left hand corner of other
people's PC, but no one knows how to turn it on. Thanks.

Right-click the folder in the Navigation Pane. Select Properties. Below
the Description box are two radio buttons. Which is selected?
