Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000 is akin to bear skins and stone knives.

Do yourself a favor and setup a real newsreader.

Outlook Express came free with XP.

You will later wonder why you didn't setup OE as your newsreader sooner.

This is by design. MS isn't gonna listen to idiot suggestions, but
wants to frustrate those that want to offer them their opinions.

I just wanted to say thanks. I was wondering what to put in the News (NNTP)
Server field to get back into the newsgroups. I lost a computer and am
getting things the way I want on my new one.

Thanks again.

7. Enter msnews.microsoft.com for the NNTP server. Leave my newserver
requires me to log on unchecked

http://michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

Or you may choose whatever your ISP may provide.

netnews.comcast.net just as an example.

Or you may want to see...

It's a little work, but worth it, I think.

I haven't compacted in a while and Folders.dbx is still only 137KB.
