option insert file as hyperlink

When inserting a file into an Outlook E-mail, clicking the drop down arrow on
the Insert button would give me the following options:

Insert
Insert as Text
Insert as Attachment
Insert as Hyperlink

For some reason, when I tried to insert a file today, the "Insert as
Hyperlink" option did not show up, even though this option was available a
couple of days ago.

The alternative method of using the "Insert Hyperlink" button is not really
suitable, as you cannot browse to the file from that dialogue box.

Does anyone know why the Insert as Hyperlink option stopped appearing on the
drop down box?

Thanks
Jon

That is only available for Rich Text formatted e-mails. It is better to
select Word as your e-mail editor and use Insert-> Hyperlink instead. This
way you don't have to switch to Rich Text.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply - it totally explains the problem.

My Outlook is configured for Rich Text, which is why I could normally see
the hypertext option.

In this instance, I was replying to an e-mail from someone who did not have
their e-mail configured for Rich Text, hence the reason why I did not see the
hypertext option.

Problem resolved now, so thanks again for your help.

Regards
Jon
