Open a file on (take to much)

hi there...

my question is, why always that i try to open a file, when
i click on the little bar to see all units (C,D,E... ) and
his folder to look for the file.. takes to much !!

i istalled this windows like 1 month ago, and it was
really fast, but now it takes to much when i do that...

does any one knows why? or how to fix this?

Yes, I find the same. I have reduced the webpages I have
cached and varied the settings for Inetrnet Explorer. I
have tidied up my registry - but I will not describe that.
I have defragmented my disk drives. I have defragmented my
registry 'hives' by running something I downloaded from
www.sysinternals.com. I removed unnecessary network drive-
letter connections and shares. Er, what else did I do?
There are a lot of possibilities. One is antivirus
software - that may be doing too much work. There may also
be some VB scripts running doing things you've forgotten -
look at what is run at startup. You could also check that
there are not some unwanted services left active. You
might also have Internet Explorer hosting a web-site that
no-one is using. You might have SQLServer running some
scheduled tasks. Oh, there's a lot of things possible.
