Steve / Lionel,

Well followed your instructions and did the
following:

uninstalled office and xp
reinstalled office
reinstalled SP3
rebooted
Ran Regseeker
rebooted
reinstalled FP
rebooted

The problem is still there!!!!!, Just for the hell
of it I have just re-run Regseeker, the first time I cleared out 628 bad
entries, after carrying out the reinstallation of FP it found another
96!!!!!! Ran again!!!!! and it found another 5. Eventually it found
nothing. However no luck the problems still persists.

Regards

George

Also because it worked after a reboot it tells me it's a problem the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section of the registry because changes to it don't take
effect until a reboot, where as Current_User normally only requires closing
and reopening a program.

If you still have the backup file RegSeeker made, would you mind zipping it
and emailing it to me. I would like to forward it to the programmers to
help them find the cause of the problem.

Steve,

Yes I did sorry didn't put it on the list. However
things have moved on apace here. I have since uninstalled the following
Service Packs

SP2 Q329115
SP2 Q811114

Initially no difference then I uninstalled the FP server
extension (IIS5.1) and reinstalled then stopped and restarted the web server
.......... KARAMBA IT WORKS!!!!!. Just one point to note and I have no
reason to think there's anything in it but it took 2 remove and installs to
get the server extensions back on (ie removed first time and reinstalled no
errors but FP wouldn't fire up and complained about the extensions not being
installed) Did a second remove and install and this time it worked.

Its been a frustrating few days but hopefully some good
will come out of this and it will help someone else, however there is still
and issue with SP3 I reckon.

Kindest regards and thanks to everyone

George

George,

I may be experiencing a similar problem as you. It seems like everything was working fine with updating records in Access DB via a frontpage form. Now can't update and it seems that it coinsides with our having installed SP3. Were able to fix your problem? Let me know what you did? Thanks!

I am having the same problem but I have even reformated my drive and reloaded all of the software without resolving the problem.
Is there any solid resolution to this problem? Next I am going to whip out my drive and reload Office 2000. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks

Did you re-apply SP3?

If yes, then uninstall Office XP / 2002 app, then reinstall and apply all updates, except SP3.
