PP2000 on win2000

I change the paper size in File | page setup

odd thing its only changing the size (I do have presentations where they
are all the same). I think this is since SP3

to test, open a new presentation (blank), change the paper size to say
8X6 and switch to the notes view or the notes or handout master

Sorry, I don't understand. If you change the paper size, it should change
the size. I think there's a word missing there somewhere.

Interesting. I see what's happening here.

You can't set the notes page size in PPT, just the orientation. PowerPoint
picks up the notes page size from the current printer settings. Try this:

Put PPT in Notes Page view
Choose File, Print
Select the printer you want then click Properties
In the printer properties dialog, click Advanced.
Choose a distinctively proportioned paper size so that the result will be
obvious.
Click OK to dismiss Advanced Options
Click OK to dismiss the printer properties dialog box
Click CANCEL to dismiss PowerPoint's print dialog w/o printing anything.

Now your notes page size has changed to match whatever you set in Advanced
Options.

I don't think that is right: PP defaults to a 10 X 7.5 screen page,
switch to the notes page it is 7.5 x 10, not 8.5 x 11 my standard
printer paper.

Its not that I can't use a 7.5 x 10 notes page, its that I worked 4
files simoultaneously and got different results, I believe SP3 was in
the middle of that: One file has the notes page unchanged at 7.5 x 10,
another matches the screen page size. the inconsistency is annoying and
frustrating.

It still doesn't explain how I have some with 10.24 x 7.68 inches and
some for 8 x 6 inches (I adjust the screen size for 100 dpi 1:1 graphics
for speed). In any case I will be using the standard 7.5 x 11 for notes,
convenient that it is, I was just wondering how to change it since I
somehow did it in some files.

I prefer testing Dolphins
problem is if you set up a notes page for a particular paper then switch
accidently every can get messed up
