Nokia PC Suite

Hi - I hope someone can help with this. I have a nokia 7250i and have
recently purchased a DKU-5 data cable. My PC operating system is windows xp
sp2. Whenever i load the driver and PC Suite from the nokia site and try and
link my phone 'new hardware wizard' opens and tries to find another driver,
but doesn't. If I cancel it the connection between PC and phone fails.

Thanks

Don't patch the computer and phone until the driver and software is fully
installed and you have rebooted.

Install the latest driver/PC Suite-see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion Kevin, but that didn't work. Any other ideas?
Much appreciated

Thanks for your help. I have downloaded the driver from the nokia website.
Is there a later one somewhere?

I've had the same problem with the DKU-2 cable. Just loaded the latest
drivers from Nokia last night. The install messages started off looking
promising by saying that they had found and installed the drivers, but
installer would loop back. Also the PC Suite does nopt recognise the
connection. Have you had any luck?

I have found out after much deliberation that the cable has to be the right
one for Phone as I had tons of hassle with DKU 2 'usb hardware un recognised '

Just tried another approach in which I deleted the original dku-2 driver,
then downloaded and installed a Prolific Driver (PL-2303), then the DKU-2
drivers. When I plugged the phone and cable in, Windows went thru the usual
new hardware checks. I inserted the original CD I received with the phone
and kept following the prompts. Windows Hardware install cycled thru a
number of different modules before telling me that the hardware was installed
with some problems. However, the phone connection is now recognised and the
synchronisation I then performed seemed to have worked. Not sure whether
that solved the problem or not, but at least the phone is connected and
communicating.

Keith.
