No Javascript from Hard Drive w/ SP2

I recently installed SP2 on my laptop and have deeply regretted it since. I
am a web site designer and so I spend a lot time with pages on my hard drive
(or memory cards, etc.) before they are ready to go live.

Since installing SP2, IE will not run any Javascript from pages located
locally (not even basic roll overs). No problem for online pages, just ones
on C: etc. They used to work fine before SP2 and they still work fine on my
home computer that does not have SP2 and on my laptop in all the other
browsers.

I've tried adjusting the security settings, I've even set the local sites as
trusted sites, nothing worked. Does anybody have any experience with this
problem? Any solution? Your time and advice is greatly appreciated.
