Networking 2000 Pro to XP Home

I'm probably missing something so basic here, I'm about to make myself look
completely stupid but I have to sort this problem, so here goes.

I'm trying to set simple file and printer sharing between an XP Hmoe machine
and one running 2000 Pro. Internet connection sharing is already running
nicely and I just added a wireless router. However, I can't get these two to
"see" each other. On the XP box, in My Network Places, the 2000 machine
fails to appear and when I run the Wizard and create a netsetup floppy, 2000
says it doesn't recognise it and it will obnly work on '98 and ME.

Trawling through 2000 Help, I see I'm supposed to set up the sharing as an
URL address but I can't quite see how.

Help - please!!!

Hi Rodger,

I've had this problem before. Can you tell me if the Windows 2000 machine
is seeing the Windows XP machine in My Network places?
Here's couple of things to try
1. On the Windows 2000 machine make sure that you have a shared folder
somewhere. Doesn't matter what the folder is or where it is just make sure
there is one somewhere. After creating the share try again in 'My Network'
places.
2. On either of the boxes click 'Start' -> 'Run' and type
'\\<othercomputersname>' this should bring up a window showing the shares on
the other computer. If this doesn't work try it again but with
'\\<ipaddressofothercomputer>'

Let me know how you get on.
Cheers
George
