networking xp and 2000

i am having a problem networking my pc running xp with my kids pc running 2000
my machine with xp can see the 2000 machine but the 2000 pc does not see the
xp
i am running this wirelessly through a router all ips are good and i have
access to the internet on both machines

Exactly what are you unable to see? a drive?
if it's that then you probably have to put the FILE AND PRINTER SHARING FOR
MICROSOFT NETWORKS in the properties of the network adapter.
