Network Issues

I have an end user here that was connected to the network
and somehow he lost his network connection - each time he
logs on he receives an error message "The following error
occured validating the name "example.microsoft.com".
This condition may be caused by a DNS lookup problem.
For information about troubleshooting common DNS lookup
problems go to Microsoft Web Site:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=5171
The specified domain either does not exist or could not
be contact.

When I tried to configure user machine and check the DNS
and it was fine and DHCP; however, when do an
ipconfig /all on user machine it is missing the Default
Gateway, so I took user out of the domain and added him
to the workgroup (BIG MISTAKE) and then tried to add him
back to the domain hopping that it will pick up his IP
address - well wrong, now I'm having difficulties adding
the user back to the domain and when I go and check the
event log this is the error message that I received "Your
computer was unable to automatically configure the IP
parameters for the Network Card with the network address
000874C92175. The following error occured during
configuration. The procedure call table is invalid.

Please HELP!! Any advice right now would be greatly
appreciated, thanks in advance.

take the machine back to the IT department that owns the domain and beg them
to put it back on the domain.
