Hi I have just purchased a new laptop and everything has been working
wonderfully and then all of a sudden I try and connect to the net....and I
can't. After muddling about it says Wireless Connection....Adapter is not
connected. I went into Device manager and there they were with a little
warning triangle next to them..
Microsoft ISATAP adapter # 2 and 3. I went into each of these and it says
that they are not working properly.
What have I done for this to happen overnight? Please anyone help
Thank you
Trudi

Probably need to reinstall the drivers. Since the machine is new, and you
have a warranty, contact the maker's tech support. After all, that's what a
warranty is for.

Try to perform System Restore on your Vista Laptop and see if that will help
to correct the error!
Or try to Go to Device Mnagaer and rollback the driver or reinstall the
driver from the CD provided by the Vendor.

Microsoft ISATAP is a IPv6 related component. The driver for ISTAP can be
reinstalled via Device Manager - Action – Add legacy hardware.

However, if the problem persists after reinstalling the driver, you may need
to refer to the following KB article:

(KB932520) On a Windows Vista-based computer, the Microsoft ISATAP adapter
appears with a yellow exclamation mark next to it in Device Manager, and you
also receive an error message

Hope it helps!

On my laptop (Toshiba) there's a separate tiny switch for turning the
wireless adapter off and on. It's a little slide switch just on the
underside of the front of the computer. There a tiny yellow LED that
lights up when it's on.

I have no clue whether your machine works this way, but it's something
to look for.

When you take it back as suggested by Mark Adams, make sure to take your
wireless access point or router with you too. If you don't then the people
in the shop might demonstrate that it works perfectly well with their own
router, which leaves you none the wiser.
