Unable to get MiniPCI Wireless Network Adapter to work

I need to get WiFi and BT working on a notebook. Device Manager says my
802.11g nic is working; "Use this device (enabled)." But it doesn't work.

The network adapter has both WiFi and Blue Tooth capability. I was once
able to connect to the Internet with it but the connection was unstable. I
opened the case and made sure the antenna was installed properly. It was.

I have a 2wire PCMCIA 802.11g wireless adapter and Kensington BT USB adapter
I can use in the machine if the internal nic fails to work propery.

I know the Internet connection I am using is live because I have the
notebook connected to the Internet via ethernet cable. And I know the
wireless signal is being boadcast because I have another notebook wirelessly
connected to the Internet through the same wireless router I am trying to use
with this notebook.

What should I do? I need to get this working today!

My NIC doesn't work so I am investigating:

I clicked on: Outlook, Help, About Outlook, System Information, Components,
Network, Adapter and scrolled down until I found 802.11g MiniPCIWireless
Network Aadpter.

It says:
Installed Yes.
Service Name 2500
Driver re2500.sys

Isn't there an easy way to capture information from System Information
program to a mesage like this other than typing it back in?

This nic is not working. How can I detemine the reason it doesn't work?

My MimiPCI Wireless network card doesn't work, I am investigating:

To find System Info I clicked on: Outlook, Help, About Outlook, System
Information.

To find info about Miniport I clciked on Components, Network, Adapter and
scrolled down until I found Packet Scheduler Miniport.

It says Adapter type: 802.3. Is this correct?

I have NICs that have more user definable settings than tis one, and so I am
trying to play Detective. I am not sure the problem I am experiencing is not
just a setting taht for some unknown reason was misset.

Many laptops have either a physical switch or a key combination (Fn+F2
for example) that turns the wifi radio (and BT) on and off. Check your
Owner's Manual or User Guide.

Thank you.

I found the button you mentioned and Wireless Network is now connected.
However, it is a weak connection. This has always been the problem a problem
with the MinPCI network adapter inside this notebook. I have PCMCIA 802.11G
adapter. How should install the removable network adapter?

I tried physically removing the internal wireless nic and the notebook would
not boot. I tried disabling it in Device Manager and that didn't work. I
tried to disable it in the BIOS and could not find an opion to do so.

What should I do about the wireless interface card before installing my
removable wireless adapter?
