net send problems

Hi,
in my office network there are 1 SBS 2000 SERVER (WIND AND DNS are on) and
about 25 clients (w2k pro, xp pro sp1 and one xp pro sp2). I use the net send
command to send alerts to my network users. From some days, when I use the:
net send mydomain text message a lot of alerts are sent to all domain clients
(about 100 alerts to each client for one net sond command).
What happened?

Thank you.

interesting, haven't seen that one. there is some info on how that stuff
works here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;168893

i am wondering if you may have a router setup problem, something that is
routing the udp packet around in circles somehow until the time to live
expires. i am at a loss to guess how that might occur, but if you have
added any new routers recently you may want to try some tests and see if one
of them is doing something strange. a packet sniffer may give you some idea
if that is what is happening.

I have only one router; I shut down the router, but the problem is the same.
I think there is a problem on the domain server with name resolution
(broadcast, wind, dns). Where can I find more detailed informations about the
net send command? And a good a very simple packet sniffer ?

Thank you.
