Navigating to subweb

I'm trying to rebuild my website after corrupting it last night. I had a
password protected subweb, with its own navigation, and I can't figure out
how I used to navigate to it. From the root, I can't drag and the subweb
onto the main web's navigation structure. How do I do it?

Ad an "existing page" to the root web's navigation.

Open the root web, and open Navigation view.

Right click on a page (yellow box) in the navigation structure, and
choose "add existing page" or "add external page" (wording depends on
FrontPage version) from the menu.

Browse to the home page in the subweb, and click OK

Change the text in the resulting yellow box to a descriptive name - this
will appear in the navigation bars in the root web pages.

Move the yellow box to wherever it should be placed in the navigation
tree.

Clicking on the link should result in a logon dialogue opening, if the
permissions on the subweb are OK for "password protected".
