subweb with different theme

is it possible to have a subweb with a different theme
than the parent web? whenever i import a subweb, it
adopts the theme of the parent. do i have to apply a
theme page by page to the subweb? will my navigator bar
for the subweb remain the same or will it change to the
parent web's nav bar? are there any other side effects to
doing this? TIA

You can't import it, you must publish it via FP's http mode to the root web.

If publishing to a remote server, use:
http://www.domainname.com/subwebname

If publish to a disk based web, use
c:\webname\subwebname
