Link between web & subweb?

S

Steve Grosz

I have a web that had quite a few files in it. I decided to make the
sections subwebs under the main website. I am using the navigation bar
(based on navigation structure). I can add my subweb into the navigation
structure and it shows up just fine (except for the name, which shows as the
subweb/index.htm filename). Once I click on that link to the subweb, there
is a new default/index.htm file with its own navigation structure. I'd like
to have 'home' defined as the main web default.htm file, not the subweb
default.htm file so when I'm in the subweb, and click 'home', I'm back at my
main page.

How can I make this happen? Oh, and how do I fix the naming convention for
them menu bar issue?

Thanks a bunch!
Steve

You have to use absolute URL between the root and subweb. Each subweb is a
complete and independent web site under a root web or nested under another
subweb.

See if there is a option for External Link.

Right click a page in nav view and add an External link, then browse to your subweb
- you only need absolute links if your subweb is not a part of the root web or may move to another location
- if the subweb is a part of the root web and will stay there relative links will work (but may show as broken and will not be
adjusted if you move / rename pages in the subweb)

| So, if I'm using the linkbar, how can you define a absolute URL?
