MSIEXEC.exe not responding

I'm running XP Pro SP1 and am having a problem with windows installer
MSIEXEC.exe. It tells me that it has encountered a problem and needs to
close. I've uninstalled and reinstalled kb893803 to no avail. I still get
the same response when trying to install anything. I've done System Restore
and that hasn't worked either.

Any clues would be appreciated.
