MS network in Novell

How to resolve Netbios names in novell network? I'm
using Windows 2000 dns as my primary dns server. My
clients are Windows 2000/XP but they are not part of
Windows 2000 domain. They are part of MS workgroup and
they all Novell client. My problem is, I can ping MS
servers using full dns name(ie: ping server1.abc.com) but
I can't ping the server using Netbios name(ie: ping
server1). I'm currently using LMHOST file temporarily
but I need permanent solution.
Did I configured DNS wrong or it supposed to work like
this. I think WINS is the only solution but in windows
2000, DNS replaced WINS. What's the easiest solution in
this situation?

Any help would appreciated.

Hi Scott,

You can still add WINS in Win2K. It is a an optional installation. It sounds
as though it would solve your issues nicely.
