netbios in Novell network

How to resolve netbios names in Novell network? I have
two network: Novell network - File and print and MS
network - Exchange and SQL. All the clients are not part
of MS Domain. They are part of MS workgroup and are all
have Novell client installed on their pc. My biggest
problem is when I tried to ping exchange server using
Netbios name, it times out(ie: ping server1) even though
their primary DNS server is Windows 2000. But I CAN ping
server1 using full dns name(ie: server1.abc.com). I used
LMhost file temporarily but I need a permenant solution.
I'm about to install WINS but in windows 2000, DNS
replaced WINS and now I'm not sure whether this will
resolve my problem.

Please help.

You can install WINS on W2k server....it may well be the answer to your
prayers.
