MS Antispyware Beta 1

Guest

I have Norton Internet Security and MS Antispyware Beta 1 installed and
running, both performing a daily scan (at different times!) of my system and
disks. Norton hasn't found anything, but MA Antispyware Beta 1 has each day
for the last week or so reported the high risk threat of SearchCentrix
(Browser Modifier) in the form of entries in my register.

Each time I have requested that the entries be removed and it reports that
it has done this, but the following day they are back again.

I have searched but cannot find the source of the infection.

Please advise how I can locate the source of the infection and how I can
remove it.

Many thanks

Tony - can you post any details of what is detected? And what definitions
you are on? It'd be good to see whether this might be a false positive.

Windows Defender, beta2 of Microsoft Antispyware, is now available:

FAQ - Where's the tray icon or desktop icon? There isn't a desktop icon,
although you can create one yourself. The tray icon only appears when user
input is needed. This may be changeable in a later beta version.

What happened to my favorite advanced tools? The tools that remain are
improved in functionality, but it is true that some old favorites are
missing. IE7 has some improved functionality in areas that used to be
covered by the tools.

How do I get definition updates? Via AutoUpdate or Windows Update. In a
corporate setting, WSUS.
