MS Antispyware (Beta)

D

Darlene

I was playing my Bejeweled game that I had bought at the
store, and the MS antispyware (beta) came on to run it's
scan & my game disappeared from the screen.
I had played the game another time & the MS antispyware
ran & nothing happened to my game. But this time the game
went away, & I can't get it back. I tried to open it
again & it gave me an error msg: unable to prepare game
excutable. I cannot uninstall it as there is an
application open. I cannot play it from the CD as it
gives me the same error msg. Any suggestions for me?
Thank you,
Darlene

Hello Darlene

To un-install the product, try this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;290301

Good luck

.I tried that page, said it was unavailable. But I guess
I was not very clear, I was saying that I could not get
my Bejewled game back. I have already uninstalled MS
Antispyware (Beta). When I bought my computer a few weeks
ago, the guy installed that Antispyware product on there.
I already have Panda (which I really like) & Spybot S&D
& Adaware. But I guess he figured I needed that one too.
But thanks for trying to help.

Darlene, can you post the exact error message that you get when you try to
uninstall the game, or when you try to run it?

One thing to try would be to start in safe mode, by pressing the F8 function
key before the first windows screen appears. If this is XP Home, log in as
administrator, with a blank password (just hit enter)--then try uninstalling
the game.

Not sure that will work, but it won't take too long to try.

I finally found all the files of bejewled, was able to
uninstall from there, reloaded the game & I am good to go.
XP is a new system for me so I wasn't sure what to do &
to look in. Thanks for all your help!

Glad to hear it. XP is quite different from the older versions. In
general, things should be easier, but there's a learning curve of course!
