ms abuse again

program did auto update and auto reboot (even though I
checked "no" to this) IT didn't reload firewall and left pc
on internet for 3 hrs without fIre wall, till I noticed
what it did.
QUESTION: I DON'T WANT THE DAMN AUTO UPDATES !!!
WHERE DID IT DOWNLOAD THEM TO???
I DON'T TRUST MS,AND FEAR IT WILL INSTALL THEM WITHOUT MY
PERMISSION I WANT TO DELETE THEM.

AND "SUSPECTED SPYWARE REPORT" FORM DOESN'T WORK EITHER..
i GET MESSAGE "ERROR SUBMITTING SCAN RESULTS, CHECK
INTERNET PROXY SETTING" I USE NO PROXYS...

AND I COULDN'T CUT AND PASTE FROM MS INFO BOXES...DAMN
IGNORANT. MS KEEPS SUCKING BIGGER AND BIGGER...NOW THEY
WILL WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR FOR THE PROGRAM, TO PATCH UP
THEIR MISTAKES.

It seems to have broken your caps lock key, as well.

Cut and pasting from the dialogs takes some creativity, but I've been able
to do it--in some, the keystroke shortcuts must be used--ctrl-a, ctrl-c,
ctrl-v.

The error message you are getting on submitting a report is, indeed
spurious, and seems to indicate a load problem at the server end, in my
experience. I am a little surprised that you were willing to submit such a
report given the level of distrust you describe.

I haven't experienced any unexpected reboots from the product--did this
action follow a scan and cleaning operation?

I'm concerned about your experience with the firewall: Most people seeing
an issue with the firewall have also lost all network connectivity--in your
case, you seem to have networking, but the firewall is still hosed?

So turn them off. Options->Settings->AutoUpdater. Uncheck "Keep me
updated..."

Probably a temp directory somewhere.

So turn the "feature" off. and when you want to check for updates select
File->Check For Updates. Anyway how would you evaluate the "update" to
decide for yourself what to do with it?
