.MPEG error

When I try to open a created .MPEG file in My Videos of
my PC, I get the
following error message when the file is HIGLIGHTED:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Windows\Explorer.exe

abnormal program termination

If I press OK, explorer.exe terminates, and I come up
with a blank desktop. If I ignore the message,
when I open the file in Windows Media Player, I get the
same error message, accept that it states that
wmplayer.exe has had an abnormal program termination.
When I press OK to this OK message, wmplayer.exe
terminates.

Can You Play any other files (either avi mpg wma) from
mplayer?
Was this file created (recorded) or downloaded (either news
or web). It is possible that it is either corrupt or
virused. Other than that, you may have a DVD compliant file,
and lack the proper decoder.
