monitor/screen too dark

Previously, on Windows 98, I was allowed to change the gamma, contrast, and
brightness levels at my will. And, considering how dark my monitor is, this
was very useful. I now have Windows XP, but cannot figure out how to change
the gamma, contrast, or brightness. I need a step by step walkthrough of how
to change these, if possible. Thank you for your help!

Hello Freddie,

Go into Control Panel
Click on Display Icon
Click on Settings Tab
Click on Advanced button
Click on Color Tab
You'll see Desktop Brightness setting Gamma and color options.

AFTER you install the appropriate driver for you video adapter, then you
do it the same way as you did in Win98. THE driver has to provide that
feature.
