Mixed home network - 98SE and XP Home

George

I've used the XP network wizard to network my XP and 98SE
computers together using TCP/IP. My 98SE computer can see
and have full access to the XP as I want. But, the XP
computer can see the 98SE, but has no access. When I
double-click on the 98SE from the XP I get a message that
says "The 98SE computer is not accessible. That I might
have have the needed permissions and that the semaphore
timeout period has expired. File and printer sharing is
enabled on both computers and the c drive on both
computers has file sharing enabled (cupped hands
showing). Any ideas?

Check your firewall settings on the 98se PC. Depending on
what you have)software wise) you can set it to allow the
ip address or the sub-mask or even the name of the xp PC
