missing Update.inf

Hey
I have a problem with my 200gb harddrive that i don't get
full use of. Only see 128gb in Windows. So i saw this
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;305098 and fixed that in the registry. But when i look
which files that was needed i saw that i didn't have
Update.inf. Is this file necessary for this to work ?
I have Windows 2000 SP4.

SP4 already has the fix in it all you have to do is follow the article.

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Atapi\Parameters

3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry
value:

Value name: EnableBigLba

Data type: REG_DWORD

Value data: 0x1

4. Quit Registry Editor.

1.) Not sure what this means.
2.) Is the OS installed to this or another drive?

What does Disk Management have to say about it?

Not sure where exactly you're seeing this "when i start up it says 186gb"

When you installed the OS did you F6 and supply the manufacturer's Windows
2000 controller driver for the ultra 100?
