missing DLL file

Susan

When I try to use the IE Repair Tool, I get the message
that the SCRRUN.DLL file is missing. I've tried re-
installing IE 6.0 and that file is still missing. Any
ideas on what to do? Thanks!

Assuming you are on XP or 2000, scrrun.dll is in the I386
folder, so will be part of a service pack. Try
reinstalling the latest service pack for your operating
system, then run the IE repair tool.

Kaylene, thanks for your help. However, when I went to the website and
downloaded the file (thru WinZip), I couldn't get it installed. Susan

If the dll is in the WinZip file, you will need to extract the same from the
WinZip file and then place it in the appropriate folder, perhaps Windows/System.

I am missing a MSVCR71.dll file (to open AOL). I did find
it on the site you mentioned, Kaylene, but having had a
terrible experience with a private site like this before
(totally messing up my computer), i would prefer to find
it from Microsoft directly. However, I haven't been able
to find that specific dll file. Does anyone know how to
get it from Microsoft directly? thanks
