Is there a possibility to move my folders & mails from my old pc
(outlook2002) to my new one? Easy transfer doesn't work but can ik put my
..pst file from outlook somewhere in my live mail settings ? If tht doesn't
work - can I recuperate my contacts from outlook in live mail ?

You can only directly import .pst files into Windows Mail if Outlook is
installed on the Vista computer. Otherwise, on a computer running XP, Outlook
and Outlook Express, import the Outlook messages into Outlook Express, copy
the folder that the .dbx files are in to the Vista computer, and import them
into Windows Mail.

In Windows Mail go to File > Import > Messages > OE6 > Next > Import Mail
and follow the wizard to import your mail boxes from the exported folder you
made earlier.

Once these are imported, a sub-folder named Imported Folder is created for
each one imported. Go to it and drag the messages to the proper boxes.

You'll get answers for Windows Live Mail, instead of Windows Mail,
faster if you ask in newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

However, from what I've seen there, Windows Live Mail can't import
messages directly from .pst file if you don't have Outlook installed
either. Versions 2003 and later of Outlook run well under Vista;
version 2002 also runs under Vista but with a few problems.

If you use the method of importing the .pst file into Outlook Express
on your old computer, then importing the files Outlook Express
produces into Windows Live Mail, you probably want to bring
along the .wab file, which contains the old contacts.
