Windows Mail --> Outlook 2007 or Windows Live Mail

J

Joe Gill

Following up on another post I made, it was suggested to look at Windows
Live Mail, to migrate to.

If Outlook 2007 is available to me, would that be a better choice or is
"Windows Live Mail", now the 'best of breed'?

Any 'gotchas' going from Windows Mail to Outlook 2007? Will all mail (Inbox
and folders) be able to be migrated?

Thanks

Comparing WLM to Outlook is comparing an enhanced freebee to a premium
commercial client. What you should use is whichever best fills your needs;
Outlook may turn out to be overkill with many features you'll never need or
use. It may also turn out to be perfect because it does many things that
WLM cannot. Moving data between them is relatively easy, provided you have
both clients setup and operating on the same machine.

In addition to Hal's comments, I don't know how easily or automatically
Outlook 2007 will migrate your WM data, since I have never gone that
route. I do know WLM will do a superb job in that regard.
