Microsoft Windows Update

I am having problems installing recommended updates from
Microsoft. The update begins and them immediately stops
with the following message:

The following items failed to install. To try installing
them again, click Review and install updates, and then
click Install Now again.

August 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6

Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components
(823718)

Hi

Have a look in the Windows Update.log file - which is in the %systemroot% folder - for any error numbers. If you find any error numbers go to the following page to see if those numbers are referenced:
