Microsoft Spyware (beta) killed my network?

I run XP Home with service pack2 on my HP Pavilion 724c.
I also run windows 98 on a compaq Presario.
The two computers are networked using an arlotto auto-
sensing 10/100 Mbps
So that my wife and I can both surf at the same time. Our
server is Yahoo through IE.
Recently I downloaded the new Microsoft Anti spyware
(beta). Which I am very pleased with. It does a wonderful
job. However it seems to have eliminated something
needed for my ICS (internet connection sharing) because
my machines no longer connect with one another.
I have automatic Microsoft updates but I believe that
this Spyware program could view them as dangerous. How
can I tell which to eliminate?
Can you tell me what I should do rectify the
situation? I installed Microsoft Anti spyware (beta) on
Jan 8, 2005. Would you advise using system restore back
to the day before installation of the Spyware program?
Thank you,
Frank Bouley

Frank - I've already answered this in the other group in which you asked it.
Let me know if you can't find that response.
